For Stork's Sake

A walk around Schierstein Hafen today because it was lovely out. After 2 weeks of being pretty much frozen (and those who know me, know I do not thrive in cold weather), today was amazingly warm. Warm enough for me to be out and about without a jacket, hat, gloves, scarf, handwarmers or a flask of soup. Lovely.

There's a very neat bridge over the entrance to the harbour, a nice big curvy bridge that rises to about 30-35 metres over the water. You can probably see it on google maps. It's a very nice place to go for a walk. Walk round the harbour, over the bridge, along the Rhine and then back home. Must come back here to explore a bit more.

Today's picture is of a stork's nest. I never thought I'd ever see something like this. It's huge - it must be about 2 metres across. Would be worth coming back here in the spring just to catch it with inhabitants.
