I'M A LITTLE TEAPOT

It is bucketing with rain. The metal storage box in the yard sounds like a machine gun. I am not going out there.

The amount of teapots I own is embarrassing. Most of these were in the mould room. There are more than this but they are without lids, entirely. As it is, the blue and white one in the middle is missing its knob on top.

The big Japanese terracotta one was a gift from our son. The dark brown one cost £6 and I bought it for the frog on the lid.

The little Japanese terracotta one was purchased at the Japanese Tea Garden in San Francisco's Golden Gate Park when I was 14 and before I started remembering the price of everything. It has travelled more than I have inasmuch as it has been to Japan and I have not.

The pale green Chinese reproduction was a gift but I saw it in the Met Museum catalogue for $28.

The blue and white Wedgwood one and the one with the seashells came in a lot of assorted stuff at auction. £32.

The big white one is the newest. I bought it from a street trader in Lucca for 10 euros because I couldn't resist the shape and all that whiteness.

The colour in this pic has not been enhanced. It was shot in overhead lighting in the sitting room.

For the record: Incessant rain. + 5 C. Sunrise: 7:16; sunset 5:49. Humidity 87%. I am surprised it isn't 100%. The dogs, the cat and Himself are all somnolent.
