A River Runs Through It

The flood plains flanking the wales/england border that I drive across every day have flooded again, and quite a few milidoodahs more than usual too juding by it reaching the second bridgey bit just before the solar powered speed warning sign. I'm reckoning we'll have a flood warning at work again soon if the wet stuff keeps throwing down so no doubt the sandbags will be gotted out from their hideyholes in the next day or so.

I finished reading I Am Legend last night and totally enjoyed it - probably the quickest I've read a book since 'The Secret Diary of Adrian Mole Aged 13 and 3/4' when I was a kid. It's far too short though - an exellent story but one I wished was a smidgen longer by another hundred pages or so. I loved the film to pieces and even though I still do now I've read the book I feel quite peeved that the film should've been allowed to share the same title let alone anything else as it's so far removed from the book it's a joke. Why do they do that? The book would've translated into an excellent film just left the way it was, and if people didn't lt like that then fine that story just aint for them. Same with War of the Worlds - they should've set it in Victorian britain and not in stars-and-stripes territory. The same with plenty of other real-life stories which get re-jigged beyond belief too.

And don't get me started on that U-Boat one...
