Montgomery Street

Today was busy. Such a gorgeous day too. Pity that I was cooped up inside an auditorium for the entire morning and then the library for my afternoon/evening.

5 things that made me happy today:
1. TCOM Day. Meeting some of my fellow medical school comrades with Brighton, Leah, and Chait. It's weird that I'm finally on the home stretch to actually starting medical school. I got excited, nay, giddy this morning just thinking about it. Also nervous. Even though I'm working as hard as I can in this graduate program and will be taking similar courses next year... it's nerve racking. A little.

2. I'm not discouraged about being a DO trying to get an ophthalmology residency. If it's meant to be, it will be. I'm going to keep praying and keep working toward that goal. That's what has brought me to this point and that is what will carry me through the next four and a half years.

3. Taking a photo outdoors. Seriously. I can't get enough of the outdoors. I want to be out in this beautiful weather more. But I can't study as well outside. Before I know it, it's going to be summer and too hot to relax near the sunshine.

4. Being in the same program as my best friends: Leah and Brighton. I am just so blessed.

5. Knowing that in less than two weeks, my boyfriend will be visiting me in Texas. Gotta work hard until then so I can take a much-needed break.

While I was shooting my blips along Montgomery Street, a truck pulled up and (scared the living daylights out of me, to be honest) the guy inside started telling me that they were going to paint the airplane that sits atop the building I was shooting. The reason you don't see an airplane in my blip is not because I didn't want to blip it. That was the very reason I had gone back to this abandoned gas station. The paint was flaking off, it was rundown.. I just didn't get a good angle on it and wasn't happy with the photo. ANYWAY. The guy, David, was telling me that they were going to be re-painting it (Purple and White.. for TCU, of course) and it should be opening up on March 18th. So he wanted me to come back and take more photos of it after it has been painted. I told him I liked it the way it was and that was the reason I stopped to take photos. But I'll come back and take some more... if I can get a better angle. Maybe from on top of the roof next time.

But then again, I love lights. So there you go.
