Mono Monday- Mailbox madness.......

A busy Queen's Birthday Monday.

Family function in Newcastle and then horrible long weekend traffic on the way home. I had in mind a lovely set of mailboxes in Matcham for the mono-Monday challenge. As bad luck would have it darkness was already descending and right before we arrived at this spot it started a torrential downpour.
So...........this is not the lovely afternoon light with the cute eclectic mailbox collection at the end of a lovely sweeping tree lined country road that I had envisioned! Instead it is a bit wet and soggy, you can see the rain pounding the tarmac of the road nearby and the boxes were lit in the end by the passing headlights of another car.

Such is life......"while we are busy making plans...God laughs!"

I do wonder when I drive by about the people to whom these mailboxes belong...all such vastly different versions of the same basic receptacle. Big ones, small ones, locked up tight and wide open, cheery bright colours and bland utilitarian, new and old....the upside down bucket has me intrigued........ I wonder how much these mailboxes in the different forms speak of their owners ?

Sorry too much musing after a family lunch..........
