Wednesday 9 March 2011: Eaves

This looks as though it was the old roof line, at one stage in the life of our house, before another level was added above. It's architecturally interesting because you can see three different ways of making eaves on these old village houses: curved roof tiles facing one way, downwards, flat tiles built out from the wall, and curved roof tiles layered both ways as they are on a roof.

Most of the morning was spent re-hanging a lot of our pictures, so I was holding frames against the wall, underneath them, and looking up at them. But then the sun came out so I went out to take this response to this week's underneath challenge.
