Spot the real one...!

First of all: Happy 18th Birthday Brad and Happy Mothers day everyone!!

We got the Moth trap out last night and caught 4 moths- 3 Common Quakers and a Hebrew Character!

They were very easy to ID- they were the exact same species Steve showed us a Old Moor last Sunday (see last weeks Blip)!

In the pic is one of the Quakers in a jam jar with the Moth book underneath. Spot the real one! The Hebrew Characters are named after the pattern on their wings which looks like a Hebrew character would you believe! I'll post more photos to my Flickr account later.

I also went to RSPB Old Moor seeing my first "proper" male Pintail! What a gorgeous duck! He nearly became todays Blip but I like the Moth pic too much and the Pintail pics were too dark. He lived up to his name, sticking his bum in the air, tail pointing to the clouds.

Other sightings included the immature Med. Gull, courting Great Crested Grebes, displaying Lapwings, Little Grebes, Linnets, Sand Martins and great views of a Great Spotted Woodpecker in the Garden hide. Oooh and a lovely Zebra Spider in one of the hides, running around on a sunny wooden panel :)

I had a really nice day today!
