Reach for the Sky

The in-laws are down from Scotland for a few days & we went to an art deco antiques fair in Twickenham. No bargains to be had so I took myself off a-blipping.
This sculpture by Gerald Laing is outside the South stand of Twickenham stadium. I'm not really a rugby fan myself, cricket is more of a gentleman's pursuit, but it is an iconic location for sport fans.
The picture doesn't do justice to the scale of the statue. It is 27ft tall & weighs 5 tonnes. I'm 5'5 & weigh a little less. It was cast in Nairn, Scotland, just down the road from the in-laws. They could have brought it with them!
