Pavo cristatus

Imagine my surprise when I was driving through Lynchmere this morning and came across this chap! Actually there were two of them and they were just wandering across the road from Shulbrede Priory, the remains of a 12th century Augustinian priory, into the farmyard opposite where there were loads of ducks and geese, etc, hanging out in a very Darling Buds of May kind of way.

I'd already decided to blip this horse who was being bothered by flies and having a good old scratch on a fence post but I don't know when I'll next see a peacock so that has to be my shot for today. Worth a look at in Large.
