Monday 25 April 2011: Pet Lamb
It is not uncommon at this time of year for orphaned or abandoned lambs to be fed at the farmhouse door or even in the farmhouse kitchen. Indeed I remember several enjoying the warmth beside the old Aga in Cathleen's parents' croft house in North Uist. I was introduced to this particular one at a farm I was visiting in the hills above Loch Fyne during this glorious sunny afternoon.
In some cases they remain close to the farm all their lives, regarding themselves as part of the family rather than part of the flock !
