Thursday 28 April 2011: Tomato-planting time
All the gardeners are putting up their canes for tomato plants at this time of the year, and everyone, like us, grows 60 or more plants because tomatoes are such an important ingredient in Mediterranean cooking. The canes change the way the roofs of the village are framed when viewed from the hillside and everything looks uncharacteristically green and blurred in the damp light today.
Lunch in the garden with J & T followed by another fairly quick retreat as thunder threatened, although the sun has come out again now.
