The Blackcountry Man

By brickmaker

Aberson Brick Making Machine.

I have to apologise, I cannot get all this machine in one shot, this is the shot of the clay feed and mold box feed.
From yesterdays blip the clay is fed to the top of the Brick Making Machinento the Clay storage and delivery system. Inside is a large screw which forces the clay down into the heart of the machine through the die plate and presses it into the mold boxes.
This is one of the smallest machine that were made, it's a seven brick machine, built in 1965, so it's quite old, but we are still able to get spares for it.
We turn out around 80,000 brick per day (8 hours), larger machines i.e. 24 brick machines can turn out 240,000 bricks per day.
The black plastic oblong objects to the bottom right are the molds returning to the start of the process after being washed and sanded.

Tomorrow I will show you the output of this Machine, and the storage system.
