Sgwarnog: In the Field

Metal Mountain

I've always been intrigued by the structures and textures of the Shipley scrap metal yards: the piles of twisted offcuts, and the solid compressed bales. You occasionally get huge boilers or other industrial relics turning up. Nothing quite so extraordinary today, just a random pile and a few squashed cars. A nice juxtaposition with the lush greenery though.

Taken from the top-deck of a stationary bus, almost into the sun, so the colours are a ltlle subdued.
