At home with the Lee's

That's the title of the proposal for a new programme for MTV.

We went down to my Aunt and Uncle's house last night for barbeque and general silliness. All three of my wonderful cousins were there - Tom, back home from America, briefly; Simon, who had ventured back 'oop North' from Londonium and Vikki who had returned from a day working at Chester Races.

Aunty Val and (Uncle) Chris came up from Leicester to join us - all excited as they were getting ready for a trip to Spain tomorrow to see my Mum.

Nana was with us too.

We were also joined by family friends Gill and Damian.

Fab food, as always - particularly enjoyed the chilli burgers. Cakes a-plenty, as Vikki had made a couple of dozen cup cakes, and so had I, along with 15 Viennese slices and a batch of scones from Grandma. Grandma's sausage rolls didn't even last till the main course I don't think! Yum yum.

Poor Vikki had plans for going out. Simon was supposed to be off gallivanting with her. However, after she went and put her rollers in and did her make up, she found Si crashed out on the sofa. Then she reappeared, in her pink PJ's, hair all fabulous and bouncy, fully made up - sat at the table in the conservatory, poured another glass of wine and tucked into a few cakes. Dave, who by this time was slaughtered, said "Are you going out Vik?" Honestly - you just can't get the parents sometimes.

There was mickey taking a-plenty, lots of reminiscing and story telling, rudeness, and Dave getting into trouble for getting Damian spectacularly drunk. James stayed out of the way and played XBOx all night with the boys, after revelling in the glory of the Porshe parked on the driveway. And poor Simon was being questionned over why he HADN'T got drunk ...can't win sometimes!

I have the best family in the world!
