THE ROSE-BUSH NEAR THE ENTRANCE,

smells so delicious, and still not every time I pass there I step with my nose into it and sniff and be surprised again and again.
Yesterday the book of Wayne Rowe, Zen and the Magic of Photography arived.
In the chapter The Role of Intuition and feeling in Zen a (translated) poem by Jacques Prévert called "To Make the Portrait of a Bird" reminds me of the zen story I invented back in The Hague. This one goes a bit further, it is about the painting of a cage first, then putting it in the garden against a tree and then wait, maybe for a short time, maybe for years, for a bird arriving. Then wait till the bird enters the cage and eventually listen if the bird decides to sing and if it does not sing the painting is not good enough, but if the bird sings it is a sign that the painting is good.
A slow day to enroll, a little sunshine and a bit of rain, then sunshine again.
Some gardening, putting up with Piet Hein a litho that stood for three years on the floor, waiting.
Some photos in a very relaxed way, go with the flow.
There are 150.000 kinds of butterflies in the whole world. In Uslar not far from here there is a butterfly-park Alaria. Planning to visit it, next week perhaps.
