Northern Exposure

For a wee while now we've suspected that at least one but probably more, of our hens were laying away from home.

A hunt through the undergrowth which required jungle explorer machete (yeh, yeh, I know it was a pair of garden shears) and full anti nettle gear eventually yielded 13 hens eggs and 9 duck eggs.

After testing them by placing in a jug of water (if they don't float they are fine to eat) most were judged to be good. They were then turned into various items of baking and lemon curd.

Update - next day the hens responded by not laying in the nest box at all. Argh!
