Weeds...

... and there 's plenty of them. Chopped some down this morning. Wonder where the axe will fall this afternoon. Wonder if it's going to fall in the right place.

Am still astounded that some senior politicians believe that there are professions where individuals are expected to adhere to higher moral standards than the prime minister is...

Oh and the daughter phoned me to tell me about the latest developments in her attempts to get hold of her academic transcript. Her EX university doesn't supply them as a matter of course. You might wonder what that's about - but as they pull in another tenner from everybody that wants them - you might begin to understand.

Anyway, after telling the woman what she wanted it for (because it's hers... and non of your damned business thank you very much), filling in the required forms for someone who was unable to identify her course on the database and coughing up even more money, the daughter was told that they couldn't print it off there and then and that they would have to send it out to her home address. Bl"""y bureaucrats!

Other than that... leaky roof meant the plaster in the study is all wet and the paper is coming off the walls. Probably just the flashing... but the plumber is of course on holiday for the next two weeks. Why do these things always happen during trades? Wonder if there's any chance it could stop raining until they get time to do the job?

PS The image... not really what I had intended but I've faffed about for too long now and I really need to get on with some work.
