At the slip

Recently we've been out in the dinghy quite a bit. Between bouts of building and renovations, it is great to just put on your boots and lifejacket and go for a bit of a pootle round the bay. We're altering the mooring, so are gradually lifting the old one and bringing it ashore.

Our quiet little village of less than 30 folk is more like a children's holiday camp at the moment. There are no children living here, but come the school holidays, the grandchildren appear! There are about a dozen at present, from surly teenagers to new born babes. Most of them spend their days on the beach, even though there is no sun, they seem happy to be messing about on the shore and in the shallows, investigating rock pools and collecting shells. They have their fishing rods and nets, there are usually a couple of dogs, and Ollie quite often tags along. The grandads can be seen supervising them, taking them for rides in their boats and giving fishing lessons! I hope they all have super memories of these holidays in years to come.
