In his defence, the person who has the allotment next to him hasn't been anywhere near it for months. The plum tree was planted many years ago - and this year it is dripping with plums. It's such a shame to see them rotting away on the branch or being eaten by wasps - or just dropping to the ground.

At least, that's his story - and he's sticking to it .....................
