Waging a war against corn syrup part 2

I mentioned in a previous blip that I attempted to make inverted sugar syrup, a substitute for corn syrup. Incidentally, said blip also involves boiling things in a saucepan - I hope this doesn't become a photographic theme, it doesn't exactly make for the world's more exciting photos.

However, as boiling saucepans go, this one is pretty exciting - it happens to be in the process of producing spiced apple cider caramel. This is the first of two batches - one using corn syrup (the one pictured) and one using the inverted sugar syrup. I'm making two batches to test out whether the inverted syrup does, indeed, work as a substitute. Results tomorrow...
