Sunday 4 December 2011: Hail

There is snow on the hills opposite the house today - the first time this winter. And there have been heavy hail showers from time to time down here , just 125 feet above the loch. The weather forecast was, and remains, bad - in fact today's Argyll & Bute Constituency meeting in Tarbert was cancelled as a result of travel concerns. Almost everyone has to make a journey of at least an hour and some substantially more. Quite a few come via ferries as well.

But the sun has shone from time to time and was out during one particularly heavy hail shower, lending a slightly golden glow to the bits of ice as they slid down the roof of the conservatory.

They made an intriguing pattern , too.

(PS; Only after positing this did I discover that my blip a year ago today was ice on the roof of the conservatory too - but a very different shot. Serendipity.)
