Bah

A fairly late start in our wee 'apartment' in Edinburgh after spending too long in the restaurant eating and too long in the pub afterwards before sitting up having a cup of tea. The place was at the end of the canal so it was a nice wee walk to Loudons on Lochrin Square for eggs benedict and coffee. Then home.

My bike is now kitted out with winter tyres - wide with wee metal spikes at the edges. The idea is that the spikes don't make contact in normal use but when needed, you drop the tyre pressure giving you wider tyres for snow and something to bite into ice. Not quite a Pugsley but it should mean I can keep moving even if the weather is like last year. Hoping for snow now to try them out, although compared with relatively skinny touring tyres, they're bloody hard work to pedal. I took the bike along to the harbour to see the boat and then to go to a mate's to help lift the door for his extension into place. Knackered after a few miles.

It's now officially that time of year when any attempt at good taste is abandoned. The house is covered in glittery tat and the music has nose-dived into Christmas crap. It sounds like Eurovision. Ellen's loving it. I'm all bah humbug and ready for a wee snooze.
