Wednesday 25 January 2012: Hatless and headless - Ahu Nau Nau
6:30 wake up call....quick scramble into the hire car....mad dash around the island....avoided the potholes....and arrived at 7:30 for the sunrise over Ahu Tongariki.
Beautiful to watch the orange sun shimmer over the blue Pacific. Ahu Tongariki has about 13 statues side by side all facing the ocean and make an impressive silhouette. Plenty of fellow photographers trying to get the perfect shot.
Today's Blip was taken after we left Tongariki and drove around the north coast to Anakena beach. Still very early so it was just the 2 of us and a stray dog as we enjoyed the Ahu Nau Nau particularly the one on the end who is hatless and headless.
After just 3 days on Easter Island it is already easy to see how people never want to leave.
