Tropical Skies

Swaying so gently in the breeze,
with ruffled petals of yellow and red,
the sweet scent fills the air,
of Tropical Skies - my Hybrid Tea.

It resides beside an iron fence,
facing the morning sun in the east.
A tall NZ Cabbage tree beside it,
And over the fence, a tall NZ Black Beech sways behind it.

It was gusty today with bursts of strong sun,
As the dark grey clouds travelled up the coast,
But my Tropical Skies held its stance,
glowing and shining throughout the day.

Its been all go in the kitchen today with Daughter E busy baking cakes, not one, not two, nor three or four BUT five!! Shes not said much, just needed the kitchen. I know theres a chocolate, a carrot but have no idea what the rest are - only time will tell.

Thanks to you all for your words yesterday, I'm feeling a little under the weather today - far too many trips to the beach in bad weather. I'll leave you with Tropical Skies even though our skies have not been tropical at all.

Have a great week everyone :)
