Launching the manifesto

Today the Labour Party in Edinburgh launched their manifesto for the council elections in May and I was there for the presscall. The documant emphasises cooperation and public involvement in the running of council services, as well as including key political pledges, such as the introduction of a living wage for all council employees and a commitment to ensure that the most highly paid council employee earns no more than twelve times that of the lowest paid. Wherever possible the intention is to seek to ensure that external suppliers also follow the same principals. Scottish Labour leader, Johann Lamont MSP was there for the launch of the document.
