Saturday 17 March 2012: Jen
Today I realised my child had become a young woman. Jen was one of the speakers at a conference at Manchester University organised by The World Development Movement entitled 'An economy for the 99%'. Jen represented her workers' co-operative and described how co-operatives provide an alternative business model based on equal pay, rights and sustainability. I had gone to give her moral support but she did not need it. She was confident, articulate, knowledgeable and a source of great pride to me.
