In a break from the convention, here's the music right at the start.

A great gig at Teviot tonight with Conquering Animal Sound, Anchorsong and the Tinderbox Orchestra. I'd not heard of the Tinderbox crowd until recently, they're an orchestra made up of exceptionally talented 13-21 year olds and they were pretty talented indeed to these somewhat untutored ears. Loud, passionate and one of the guys that conducted a piece of his own composition looked like he'd been waiting all his life for that moment. Joyous.

Anchorsong was really good too, deftly building tracks up and adding more and more layers, on occasion accompanied by a live cellist and violist. Conquering Animal Sound were their usual smart selves, lovely tunes and a neat line in self-deprecating between-song patter. Justsitting was my gig-going companion for the night. Have a look at his page, a similarly positive write-up of the gig and a pic of the CAS duo as well.
