Thursday 26 April 2012: Railway reminder

This is all that remains of the St Enoch mainline station in Glasgow city centre. It was closed as part of the Beeching Axe of the 1960s and the station demolished later.
This, I think, was the old ticket office. It stands in what is now St Enoch Square and was occupied by the Cafe Nero chain two or three years ago.
I actually vaguely remember getting off here when I was a small boy and steam trains used to run between Ayrshire and St Enoch.
