BELLA

My daughter Becky phoned me late last night from her hospital room.  The op seems to have gone well.  Obviously her ear was hurting but not too bad.   She was going to take some painkillers and settle down for the night.

She phoned again this afternooin.  She was home.  Feeling rather tired as through the night she was woken up every hour by a nurse wanting to take her blood pressure. Her head, shoulders and face were feeling sore and she was finding it painful to move her jaw to eat or talk.  These things will obviously get better as time goes on. She has a big pad on her ear which will stay there till next week when she gets it changed.  She isn't allowed to bend forwards or lift heavy weights and she has to stay away from crowded places in case her ear gets knocked. Her biggest problem at the moment is that she isn't allowed to wash her hair for a week.  And she says its full of " gunk " from the op.  Not even allowed to use dry shampoo in case the powder gets in the wound.  She is just going to have to put up with dirty hair for the moment.

After Becky's call I went for a walk to the Co-op.  Weather was OK - a bit dull but not windy.  Later on though we had really heavy rain.  Its still lashing down now at 2am.

I have been to my brothers this evening which is why I am blipping late. Has a nice time catching up with family news.  My sister in law provided some lovely nibbles. My blip shot is Bella their dog.  She is a Labmaraner- a mix between a Labrador Retriever and a Weimaraner.  She seems to look more like a Weimeraner with the shape of her head and her long legs.  She is still a puppy and is very friendly - loves to lick your hands and face. She seems to have nabbed the best seat in the house while we were all out of the room having something to eat.
