Art at the Lake

Here I am relaxing at our booth at the "Art at the Lake" Show at Bloedel Donovan Park in Bellingham. You might notice a slight resemblance to the drawing on the right. On Saturday morning Trish Harding did a drawing session with me as the model. I quite like it. I told her I'd like to buy it but she gave it to me instead. How cool is that.

Behind me is our paintings on display. Mine are the small ones on the left and the others further left. I was booth sitting for a few hours this morning and will go back in time for the closing at 4 o'clock.

Arvin and Helena spent the morning walking up to Big Rock Garden to check out the hummers. They met George Drake there and some Korean visitors who are here for the Ski to Sea race. They wanted to see the Korean memorials there too. Later in the day, after taking down the show, I drove up to the park myself to take another try at photographing mother and baby. She is much shyer now and won't feed him if I am right there looking at them. So I set up my camera on a tripod and left the video recording going. I hit the jackpot on my fourth try. Here is the video I took. Finally the mom came out from behind the leaf to finish feeding her baby. I watched from a distance but didn't realize how great the video was until I looked at it. Made me very happy. I want to keep photographing them as the baby grows.
