Gillipaw's Journal

Port Ellen, Islay

Another beautiful day, 16C.  We visited the Gaelic Centre in Bowmore this morning, to enjoy architectural design by our good friend GP. We also found a photographic exhibition 'Islay 3 x 8', featuring work by Blipper Feorlean. We then had a wander around Bowmore, and went inside the Round Church.

A drive to Port Ellen this afternoon, and on out to the RSPB reserve at The Oa. We walked to the American Monument, dramatic cliffs and waves crashing in. So windy I could hardly stand up.  Still haven't seen any Choughs.
