Memories of Islay

Recovering from the length of the journey home yesterday/this morning.

My memories include :-
Good weather.
Beautiful beaches.
Crashing waves.
Vibrant yellow gorse bushes.
Thousands of barnacle geese.
The Distilleries.
Whisky and Gin tasting at Bruichladdich.
The smell near the distilleries and maltings building.
Glorious sunsets.
Ship wrecks, and the sad stories about these.
Single track roads with passing places.
Loads of potholes in said single track roads.
Friendly waves from the locals as you drive around.
Roads blocked by sheep.
The white painted houses with the black lines around the doors and windows.
Pheasants.
The peacock.
Lots of hares darting across the fields.
High crosses.
Peaceful places.

Backblipped yesterday's Paps of Jura from Port Askaig.
