Paps of Jura from Port Askaig, Islay

Today was all about ferry disruption.  #1 and S went as foot passengers on an early boat from Port Ellen, and then the bus back to Glasgow.

We finished packing up at our lovely cottage, out by 10 am.  We drove along to Portnahaven, to see the little village, before heading over to Port Askaig.  We were on the Standby List for the 15.30 ferry.  Sadly we were two vehicles away from getting on, so we had to wait for our re-arranged 20.15 booking, which didn't leave until 22.00.  We'd spent 10 hours at Port Askaig, chatting with other passengers, sitting in the car, reading and trying to get some sleep.

Arrived in Kennacraig at midnight, thankfully it was a calm crossing.  We then followed a convoy of traffic all the way back to Glasgow.  Home just before 3 am. We are exhausted.
