View from our Islay Windowseat

We've enjoyed beautiful views and sunsets from here this week, looking over Loch Indaal.

The day was dominated by a text received just after 9am, saying our ferry tomorrow has been cancelled, and we can't sail until Sunday evening. Several calls, texts and emails later, an extra sailing has been added late on Saturday, but the weather could change all that. This however doesn't suit #1 and S, due to work commitments, so they are taking the foot passenger/bus option on an earlier crossing. "Bring back the Finlaggan" is the word on the street today.

So we drove up to Finlaggan, the ancient seat of the Lordship of the Isles, and walked across the raised walkway to the island. More impressive graveslabs, it must have been quite a grand place.

On to Port Askaig, and watched the ferry cross to Jura - that will be on our list for Next Time.

I wonder what tomorrow will bring? The challenges of island life.
