Fairies' Honey Guard

Emergency Blip for me. I arrived home just before sunset, picked this red campion flower and balanced it against the dying light on the fence. Why they are called red campions I don't know as they are pink.

In folklore the red campion has been associated with snakes, devils, goblins and death. In some places it was believed that picking a red campion would cause a parent's death.
