Invigorated main street...

The invigorating powers are on: The mayor of the city of Tampere wants to decorate the city. Nice pots and grass with benches!

The plan forces car drivers to find new routes: Now only public buses & taxis are allowed to drive along the main street anymore. To be sure that more and more pedestrians (are there more?) will have room to walk, the street will be made into narrow lane and some objects have been added on the street. Apparently there was no need for bicycle lanes either - they still have to ride on the pedestrian way.

I wonder if the green artificial grass is the best choice to invigorate the street. And I wonder why the huge pots have to be red. ( I have yet not figured why the pots even exist) I wonder how we catch more pedestrians, this is not a big city, only 200.000 inhabitants. Most of which live somewhere else, and would just pass thru here...

Maybe I will get used to this new invigorated scene some day, and even go and sit on the green bench or in some cafeteria or pub and chat over glass of beer, but just now I dislike the style... :(

Historical change anyway. And very much opinions against of for it among citizens :)
