Capazon Caught Off Oregon Coast

Tuesday we spent the day with our good friends, Dave and Sue Galt and their family, spreading the ashes of his parents in front of their beach house off the coast of Manzanita on the boat, Siggi-G out of Garibaldi.  Going out over the bar was a thrill, and the day was absolutely beautiful, a perfect tribute to his parents and their lives.  The family dropped entwined floral wreaths into the water along with their ashes, as we circled three times around them, a Hawaiian tradition.

Then it was a day of fishing and crabbing on the way back to Garibaldi.  We caught 76 sea bass and this one capazon, some 23 1/2" and 7 lbs.  He was not easy to pull in.  And we pulled in some 80 crabs.  That night we had a big crab feed...it doesn't get any better than that with the 80 degree temps at the coast that day!
