Monday 18 June 2012: Sharing

On Saturday during one of my surgeries I found myself involved in discussing the issue of marine spatial planning - in other words finding a way to allow all the users of the sea an opportunity to do what they want and need to do without coming into conflict.

I thought of that matter this morning driving along the Gourock shore, when I saw this striking combination of users - what I now know is the Algerian registered tug El Mousif (built this year in Norway) and the rather elegant little yacht Quail , which presumably is moored here because of the close location of the Royal Gourock Yacht Club.

Fortunately they were on opposite sides of a sunny Firth of Clyde.
