The Shrinking Bath

“This bath is far too narrow,”
moaned the king, and added, “Drat!”
“Don't be daft,” the queen replied,
“It's you who's grown too fat!”

The argument continued for
a quarter of an hour
till the poor king shrugged his shoulders
and declared he'd have a shower.

She tossed her head and chuckled,
did the queen, for quite a bit,
until she found, to her dismay,
that she, too, didn't fit.

“This bath is far too narrow,”
she conceded, adding, “Blow!”
“We shall have to buy a wider one,”
the king said. “Told you so!”
