Upper Buller River

Today, because it was so sunny, Kiwilizzie and I decided on a trip to Lake Rotoiti (Nelson Lakes National Park). Unfortunately when we got there the sun was not in evidence and it was freezing! The best shots of the day were taken of the head of the lake from the jetty, but KL has blipped the same view so I've chosen something different.

We saw lots of bellbirds but I got no decent captures. Then we went for a drive up Mount Robert where it was snowing, but same again, no decent pictures.

This is taken from the Upper Buller Bridge on our way home. Unfortunately no tripod so it's not as long an exposure as would have been ideal. Still, it does show how much water the river is carrying and how much energy she has as she leaves the lake.
