A good ending...

...to a wonderful and very long lunch that started with apéritifs - white wine for some, pastis for the more traditional - with substantial nibbles, the mussel salad that LoJ and I had made and was enjoyed by all, melon and jambon cru, civet de sanglier (spicy wild boar casserole with potatoes), green salad and goats' cheeses, peaches grown in the village and then the famous flan (or three of them in fact, one of them in this photo) made by the oldest guest there today. Wines, of course, white, red, rosé and vin doux, and with the civet an early taste of the 2011 Syrah red made from the grapes we helped to pick last autumn. We came home very happy and well fed at 6.30 p.m. and we weren't the last to leave!
