Desperately seeking

Windermere

"Diddle ooo do, ooo do, ooo do, ooo!" went my phone. "It's time to get up!" declared The Man's phone, simultaneously. It was indeed! It was 6am.

We had made the decision last night to set the alarms and get up before dawn so that we could be at the river at a time the otters may be swimming. We parked and carried deckchairs to the place we had seen the otter footprints. It was too dark for the autofocus to function! Manual it had to bee as well as I could guess in the dark. I wasn't too bothered because I wouldn't get a good shot at this time of day, anyhow!

We sat until 8am by which time the mist was lifting and it was quite light. Not a single thing seen swimming and no roe deer emerging from the woods, either.

We drove along to Windermere and took several shots and had coffee at the steamer pier before going back to the caravan for a quick lunch before we packed up and went home.
