Immature Bald Eagle Photo Shoot

Around 10 this morning I stopped at Bethany Lake and caught a mature bald eagle on the power poles, but as I approached it flew to the north.  So disappointed not to get a better look, but maybe another day.  Then I headed to Sauvie Island, and caught a few good sightings of pelicans and other migrating geese and birds.

After lunch I returned to Bethany Lake and caught the immature bald eagle on the power pole.  It spent quite a bit of time preening and looking for fish.  After about 800 shots, I was exhausted...and gave up waiting for it to take flight!
