Wednesday 1 August 2012: Not the Olympics
At times, rounders feels like it should be.
Some spectacular stuff today - John took six catches in one innnings, one of our opponents from RSC didn't dive so much as miraculously shrink five feet to take one an inch above the ground, and Mark (and John) hit the ball so hard it cleared our field and ended up in the volleyball courts - we'd already asked them to move once to try and avoid it happening! The only downside was that the grass is in dire need of a cut on Jesus Green, but it did help the photo I thought...
Took this shot with the new lens as you can tell from the rather lovely blurring in the background, but in this particular shot I'm most impressed with the sharpness up close (largify and check out the ball) especially as this is sooc with no tweaking whatsoever. Had a few to choose from, but this one for the sharpness and also the dynamism in the background - that's Stef hammering one out of the park (well, over the footpath).
I would say it was a pretty successful experiment!
