Exploring

After all the rain of late, Mr and Mrs Mallard were out on a little adventure - exploring new waterways, flooded paddocks, swiftly flowing rivers and discovering new lakes, while I stomped through huge puddles and waded through long thick wet grass, I think it would've been easier to be a duck today.

We saw the sun this afternoon, lighting up parts of the garden which have been in darkness for much of winter. A bitter wind filled the air and was quick to wrap itself around me - I'm sure theres snow on the mountains.

After a wander this morning, the remainder of the day has been spent doing house jobs. A chicken is now in the oven, quietly cooking away while we await for Daughter E to join us for tea, looking forward to catching up with her.

Mid week here today, downhill till the weekend and hopefully some fine weather :)
