Tuesday

Slept really badly worrying about a) today's clean at the dentist (which went much better than I feared) and b) lack of storage in the house I saw yesterday and c) why??

Went via the Fruitmarket Gallery to pick up stuff for the October reception. This meant going out the new entrance to the station and it was good to see it not at 11 p.m. It is very open and bright and much more welcoming than that dingy back stair.

I couldn't settle at work, too enervated.

Met L at the Pleasance and we avoided getting absolutely drenched in a tropical storm, tropical without the heat that is. Saw two shows - 'Jigsaw' and Josie Long. I preferred the latter. Then it was off for food, the lack of which had given me a headache. We ended up in the 'Nanyang' the new Malaysian at the Quartermile. We had a lovely meal but felt a bit left out as we didn't have a birthday cake with us! There was music and one of our waiters was a girl from China who had just graduated in architecture at Edinburgh - just like Wen.

Then home for some conversation with #3 son. It turned out a good day after all.
