THE TOUR

Whenever Nigel and I get together in Germany, well Bavaria  to be exact, and thus a default back to Germany. we always do the same tour. It was like that the first time I got him over to "convince" him he wanted to work over here with me around 1989. We hired a BMW cabriolet in near winter conditions and did the tour. Have done it with him and his daughter Jemma in 2009, him and the 2015 Cricket Club annual tour. Never do we tire of it. Did the tour two weeks ago with my son who had until then only done half the tour. Sadly I don't have any photos of the original cabrio trip. I wonder if Nogbad would sell me one?

Here we are in Schwangau, the village where the castles of Hohenschwangau and Neuschwanstein are. Neuschwanstein is on the hill in the photo. If it looks familiar it's because it is the Disney castle which the mad Bavarian King Ludwig copied 130 odd years before our visit.

We had done the Oberammergau, Plansee, Reutte (Tirol) bit and stopped off here for a beer and a bit of music. We got thrown out of the beergarden for not buying the accordion and electric organ playing duos latest hits (CD 19.90DM=US$ 12.00) (MC 14.90DM=US$9.00).MC won't mean much to many - it's the thing that gave birth to the German word "Bandsalat" translated Tape Salad.
