Neuschwanstein

So. George picked us up in Munich in a hired bus. He had enough food and booze to stock a tent at the Oktoberfest for a week.

We then went to the airport where, after a game of hide-and-seek, we picked up Rowan and Ell (my extra daughter).

Back on the autobahn heading south west. We had a short stop to look at the Ammersee before heading to Hohenschwangau. I had pre-booked tickets which is why we were on the clock to get there and collect them and then get up to the castle for the tour. It's about 30 minutes in some of the most amazing rooms.

Then we went over the border into Austria and round to the Plansee, a stunning Alpine lake, where Jemma and Scott had a swim and we broke out the picnic. 

Great food, great company and amazing scenery. All of my children together in Bavaria, however briefly, and the most generous host/driver. A truly wonderful day
