Life's Little Moments

Merry Christmas

The last few months have been such a sad time for us, but today we made a decision to make some new memories and to enjoy time with a much-loved friend.  So, after talking with my parents, and Hubs' mother and sister, we headed into NYC to spend the day with my "sister from another mother", Kura.

We managed to see a few of the store windows on Fifth Avenue before the crowds got the better of us.  Honestly, the crowds were insane.  We quickly headed a few blocks east, where most tourists never go, and eventually found ourselves at a favorite French steakhouse where we lingered over salads, steak with peppercorn sauce and frites... all washed down with a serviceable Cote'du Rhone.  At the table next to us were a party who'd just flown in from France this morning, so we enjoyed chatting a bit with them and then listening to their soft chatter in French as we enjoyed our meal.  It was like being transported to a different place and time, but with someone we love dearly.  Thanks to Kura for snapping this photo on my iPhone - and to Hubs for the shot in Extra of Kura and I.

Home early this evening, in time to talk to our nephew and his wife and wish them a happy Christmas.  And now, we are tucked in for the evening.  It was a good day.

Wishing you all peace and love.
