Tegu Lizard and Friend

This afternoon we drove down to Anacortes to visit Dave and Nora and to go to the Oyster Run. This is one of the largest gatherings of motorcycle enthusiasts in the Pacific Northwest. Arvin wasn't in the mood so he stayed at D&N's to read while Nora cooked dinner for us all, her favorite activity. Dave and I walked downtown to see the huge collection of motorcycles and people gathering downtown. Some had already left but there were still plenty of bikes, people and noise. As we were walking along the street we encountered this young woman carrying a really large lizard. Turned out it is a Tegu Lizard. He was huge and had a very long tongue. This was the best shot I got of the two of them. You might want to look at him closer. We got home in time to play some dominoes before friends Rick and Judy arrived to have dinner with us. Rick had a booth at the Oyster Run for his new business, teaching safety and accident assistance skills to motorcyclists. We all had yummy chicken chile that Nora made from scratch. It was delicious.
